ABOUT THE SHOW!
|
MEET YOUR FAVOURITE CITY GIRLS!
|
CHEF SARACREATOR & HOSTSara Schwartz Geller is a producer, chef, and entrepreneur. With a passion for the culinary arts, feeding hungry people and a strong business acumen, Sara has made a name for herself in the both the food and entertainment industries as a creative and driven professional.
Sara got her start in the culinary world when she launched her first food business, TORONTO SOUP CO. in 2016 as a way to fund her desire to feed as many hungry people as possible. The premise of the company was simple - for every litre of soup sold, she gave one to someone in need. As the Empathy Empire grew, Sara moved out of the commercial kitchen she had been renting and got her very own. |
The Pandy hit shortly thereafter and with producing work on hold, she was able to pour her passion and time into growing her food business.
Given the seasonal nature of soup, and the need to pay the rent year-round, Sara developed a complementary product to round out the business. What's the opposite of soup??? Popsicles of course! And so, Sara's second food business, SOULPOPS, was born.
TORONTO SOUP CO. and SOULPOPS are housed at Sara's sweet little shop in mid-town Toronto, SOUL PROVISIONS, which she co-owns and runs with her love, Matt.
With entertainment back up and running, Sara is back to producing critically acclaimed live and tv productions, and running her food businesses. CITY GIRL EATS THE COUNTRY brings together all of Sara's great loves into one place - Food, Family, Rurual Environments (lol) and most importantly, humour.

sidekick JEWELSHOST & "COUNTRY LIAISON"Jewels is infinitely fascinated by stories. The stories of our lives. The stories of events in our lives. And the stories we make up about those events - in order to deal with them, to make sense, to identify. Sometimes these stories are told on a stage, sometimes in front of a camera, and sometimes they are shared and/or created around a dinner table over a plate of food. Those dinner stories have the potential to shape us the most, whether we like it or not. This show is a celebration of those stories and in many ways an accumulation of Jewels' many layered interests - film, food, and fashion!
Jewels was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany but now calls Toronto her home. Jewels works as an actor both on Stage and in Film/TV. Selected Acting credits include: Mother Amal in Amal (The MT Space); Co-creator/ performer in Thousand Beginnings (Under The Umbrella Collective); Amy in Breath in Between (Crow’s Theatre); Jessica in Second Life (Tottering Biped Theatre); Mary in The Twilight Zone (Ghost River Theatre); Grace in A Rose Upon The Blood (Cork Arts Theatre, Ireland). As an Assistant Director, she was part of the Stratford 2019 season working on Nathan The Wise and also as the German coach on Birds of a Kind. Other selected Assistant Directing credits include: Taking Care of Baby (The Care Takers); George F. Walker’s The Bigger Issue (Theatre Passe Muraille); Orpheus & Eurydice (Theatre TOnight); Macbeth (KW Youth Theatre), and most recently Henrik Ibsen's Nora oder Ein Puppenhaus at the Vorarlberger Landestheater in Bregenz, Austria. |
